Dr. Braden Stauts is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, practicing in Boise, Idaho. A native of Reno, Nevada, Dr. Stauts received his DDS from the University of Southern California in 1963 and practiced general dentistry for 21 years in Torrance, California. During this time he held a part-time assistant clinical professorship at USC, teaching operative dentistry and occlusion. In 1984, Dr. Stauts entered the Advanced Prosthodontic residency at the University of Southern California and received his certification in 1986. At the completion of his prosthododontic training, Dr. Stauts accepted a full time faculty position at USC as the Chairman of the Sections of Occlusion and Fixed Prosthodontics. During this period he also practiced part time as a prosthodontist in Orange, California. Dr. Stauts left full time academics in the fall of 1988 and traveled to Gotenburg, Sweden, where he received his surgical training in the Branemark implant system.
For the next three years he practiced as an implant surgeon and restorative consultant for the PermaDent Implant Center in Torrance, California. In August of 1991, Dr. Stauts, his wife Colleen, and their son Stephen, moved to Boise and established a new prosthodontic practice.
Dr. Stauts has an extensive background in complex restorative dentistry, removable prosthodontics, and osseointegrated implants. He has directed numerous implant study clubs and lectures extensively on the subject of implant prosthodontics. He is currently a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontics, and is a Diplomate of the American College of Prosthodontists.
“The Emerging Science of Dental Implants”

This course will discuss the emerging technology that is rapidly changing the face of implant dentistry. Surface technology and improved prosthetic options have dramatically improved the predictability of implant success. The impact of these changes will be discussed. The other major development in implant dentistry is digital technology. Cone Beam CT, computer planning software, stereolithic surgical guides, computer milled abutments and frameworks, and complex impression techniques will all be discussed.
